Hi, Iâm Aditya Ahuja, 23 years old, curious, and slightly obsessed with understanding why brands do what they do.
The Brand Jam was born out of the desire to create a place where I could break down brand stories, marketing strategies and business decisions into readily understandable terms instead of through a textbook context. This would allow for conversations about brands that you would typically get into with a friend over coffee rather than in an academic setting.
The fascination with brands has always existed for me not just their big campaigns or viral advertisements but also the ideas behind them. What makes a brand pick a particular tone? Why do some products appear to be high end before you touch them? What causes us to trust or relate to particular brands with little to no experience with those brands?
Eventually, I realized that I needed a place to âjamâ on these types of thoughts, as well as to explore ideas, make connections between those ideas and share different viewpoints. Thus, The Brand Jam was born.
This blog isnât meant to answer every question. In fact, I use this space to explore many different things. Some days I look at successful businesses as case studies, other days I ask myself whether the same methods would work today, and on still other occasions, I ponder the meaning of an intriguing idea. Regardless of my explorations, at the end of the day, the goal of this blog is simply to make it easier for everyone to relate to branding and business in general.
In addition to being a source for stories and insights, my approach toward examining each element of business will always be from a place of curiosity and simplicity. I will look at many different aspects of business from various angles including cultural trends, brand strategy and the psychology of marketing.
I am in a learning mode where I am trying to learn as much as I can and observe how my perspective of the business world is changing. Through this blog, I want to document the many different ways in which I see changes within business and how my view has evolved over time.
If you have ever looked at a commercial and wondered what they were trying to sell or how they arrived at their choice of brand, or just want to know âwhyâ businesses do what they do, then you will feel right at home on this blog.
I hope The Brand Jam causes each of you to stop and think, âWait a minute⌠that makes perfect sense.â
Thanks for stopping by.
-Aditya
